Event Fee: $945 ($400 Deposit / $545 Balance Due May 1, 2027)

Women journeyed to new lands carrying remarkably little with them. Among their possessions were the familiar tools of domestic life—needles, thread, cloth, and treasured patterns. With these simple things, old traditions took root in new lands.

Those traditions were carried from mother to daughter, shared among neighbors and communities, and adapted to new surroundings. Familiar stitches connected women to the homes and families they had left behind, while the needlework they created became part of the story of the places they now called home.

New Lands, Old Traditions is a cross stitch retreat celebrating that remarkable journey—and the enduring traditions that continue to connect stitchers across generations.

Set among the beautiful vineyards of Casa Larga, our weekend will bring together history, needlework, friendship, wonderful food, special presentations, shopping, and, of course, plenty of time to stitch.

The retreat begins Friday afternoon as guests gather in the Bella Vista stitching room, with Hobby House Needleworks' Shop & Drop in-store and on-site vending, explore the Casa Larga shop, and settle in for the weekend.

Friday - Friday evening brings our Welcome Reception & Meet and Greet, with passed hors d'oeuvres, food stations, a cash bar, photo opportunities, and opening remarks. A gourmet buffet dinner follows, along with special gifts and activities. We'll end our first evening together with an opening lecture and open stitching. 

Saturday - Saturday begins with breakfast at the vineyard and offers a full day devoted to the retreat experience: special lectures and presentations, stitching, more shopping, a leisurely buffet lunch, and time spent in the company of fellow needleworkers. The evening includes a reception, gourmet buffet dinner, gifts, organized activities, evening presentations, and more time to stitch.

Sunday - On Sunday, we'll gather once more for breakfast, stitching, shopping, and our concluding lectures. After saying goodbye to Casa Larga, guests are invited back to Hobby House Needleworks for wine and cheese, additional light refreshments, and a relaxed afternoon of shopping.

The retreat includes Friday's welcome reception and gourmet dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, reception, and gourmet dinner; Sunday breakfast and refreshments at Hobby House Needleworks; three kits; lectures and presentations; organized activities; retreat gifts; access to the Bella Vista stitching room; special retreat vending; and scheduled shuttle transportation between participating hotels (Woodcliff Hotel, Hampton Inn & Suites - Victor, and Hilton Garden Inn - Pittsford) and Casa Larga Vineyards on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

REFUND POLICY
- Please read carefully - 
If you cancel your Registration prior to January 1, 2027, a $100 Service Fee will be deducted from your Deposit and a refund will be made when another stitcher fills your seat. There is not a specific timeframe associated with when a refund will be made. All deposits become non-refundable after May 1, 2027. 
Invoices for the Balance Payment will be sent March 1, 2027 and are due on May 1, 2027. Non-payment by May 1, 2027 will result in you forfeiting your seat.
After your Balance Payment has been made, any cancellations will receive a $200 refund prior to May 1, 2027 if another stitcher fills your seat. Balance payments are non-refundable after July 1, 2027. 

We thank you for your understanding. In addition, attendees who choose to cancel are responsible for cancelling any additional related bookings, such as hotel reservations and transportation. The Event Organizers are not responsible for any cancellation costs incurred with hotels, airlines or other third parties.
