Hobby House Needleworks invites you to join us for a Weekend Retreat featuring Tanya Brockmeyer of The Scarlett House and Vickie Jennett of NeedleWorkPress!

 

Event Dates & Location

Retreat Weekend
Friday through Sunday, September 5-7, 2025

Retreat Location
The Retreat will take place at the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa located in Fairport, NY. It is located less than one mile from the shop, directly up Woodcliff Drive. All of the included event activities will take place at the Woodcliff in the Main Banquet Center off of the Main Lobby of the hotel. 

  • Discounted hotel rates will be made available at a later date. Please do not call the hotel at this time. (Rates TBD) 

  • Shuttle service will be available between the Woodcliff Hotel and Hobby House Landing on a regular basis on Thurs-Sept 4, Fri-Sept 5 and Sun-Sept 7. (Hours TBD)

  • We are planning some additional optional activities on Weds-Sept 3 and Thurs-Sept 4, 2025. Stay tuned for details!

Event Fee

Total Cost 
$795
  • ​This includes an initial deposit of $300 and a final payment of $495 that will be due in June 2025. 
  • ​Includes provided meals and event kits from Tanya and Vickie.
  • Does not include travel, hotel accommodations and other incidentals not provided as part of the Retreat Weekend  
  • Food passes will be available for spouses, guests and travel companions for an additional charge. Seating will be available in Palm Court outside of the Main Banquet Center.
  • Information about additional optional activities will be provided in the coming weeks. 
Cancelation policy will be the same as My Life is a Sampler 2. If we can fill your seat, you will receive a refund minus a $50 administrative fee. 

  

Preliminary Event Schedule

The original My Life is a Sampler Retreat Weekend was held in September and it was absolutely fabulous! Below is the preliminary Event Schedule with times and locations. 


Friday, September 5, 2025

1-5pm - Stitching Room Opens - Palm Court and Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      No formal activities, but soda, water, coffee and tea will be available.   

4pm - Check-in Begins - Palm Court and Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      No formal activities, but soda, water, coffee and tea will be available.   

5-7pm - Meet & Greet Reception with Tanya and Vickie - Palm Court and Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      Attendees will have the opportunity to mingle with Tanya, Vickie, other Attendees, and Hobby House employees in a relaxed environment. Take photos, enjoy appetizers and grazing stations, and of course the open bar! (Please note that the open bar is courtesy of Hobby House Needleworks and is not factored into the Retreat Fee.) 

7-11pm - Open Stitch - Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      The Banquet Center will be available to Attendees until 11pm for Open Stitch. Soft drinks, coffee, tea and water will be available during Open Stitch, and the Horizons Bar will be open during their regular hours of operation upon the conclusion of the Meet & Greet Reception as a cash bar.

7:30-10am - Buffet Breakfast - Palm Court and Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      A Breakfast Buffet will be available to all Attendees on Saturday morning.  

7:30-10am - Classroom Setup - Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      The Classroom doors will open at 7:30am for Attendees to choose a seat and get set up before the beginning of the Retreat. Although there are limited outlets in the Banquet Center, we strongly encourage Attendees to use wireless lamps/magnifiers for safety purposes. 

10am-12pm - My Life is a Sampler 3 - Day 1 Morning Session - Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      The Retreat Activities will begin promptly at 10am!  Soft drinks, coffee, tea and water will be available all day. 

12-1pm - Buffet Lunch - Palm Court and Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      A delicious Buffet Lunch will be served at Noon. Please contact David with any dietary restrictions you may have.   

1-5pm - My Life is a Sampler 3 - Day 1 Afternoon Session - Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      The Retreat Activities will resume at 1pm.  

5-6pm - Saturday Evening Reception - Palm Court and Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      Attendees will once again have the opportunity to mingle with Tanya, Vickie, other Attendees, and Hobby House employees at the Reception. Be sure to leave room for the Signature Buffet Dinner! (Please note that once again the open bar is courtesy of Hobby House Needleworks and is not factored into the Retreat Fee.) 

6-8pm - Buffet Dinner - Palm Court and Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      We plan on featuring the carving, pasta, potato and salad stations that were so well received at the first My Life is a Sampler Retreat!   

8-11pm - Open Stitch - Main Banquet Center, Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, Fairport, NY
      The Banquet Center will be available to Attendees until 11pm for Open Stitch. Soft drinks, coffee, tea and water will be available during Open Stitch, and the Horizons Bar will be open during their regular hours of operation upon the conclusion of the Meet & Greet Reception as a cash bar.

1-5pm - Private Shopping - Location: Hobby House Landing, Victor, NY 
      Attendees can once again enjoy shopping at Hobby House Landing!
