Two Blue Deer, Elizabeth Richey, is a simple marking sampler of unknown origin, although the colors used and the family initials may point to northern England or Scotland. The stitch count is 112 x 141 and has been stitched on 30 count Confederate Gray linen from Weeks Dye Works. The sampler is executed using cross stitch over two threads with two strands of floss, and therefore could be stitched on linen or aida. The palette is limited with five colors of Gentle Arts threads: School House Red, Uniform Blue, Antique Rose, Oatmeal, and Mountain Mist.
