When the 19th Century architect Baillie Scott built a holiday home overlooking Lake Windermere for his client, Sir Edward Holt, he created Blackwell, a masterpiece of early 20th Century design and a perfect example of the English Arts & Crafts Movement. Throughout this historic house, the architect has incorporated a wide variety of crafts, including the decorative plasterwork which displays the motif featured in this kit.

Rowan leaves and berries form the dominant decorative theme in this wonderful house and they in turn are the perfect vehicle for a range of interesting and enjoyable crewel work stitches.
