Covered Bridges in Fall

Living in Oregon comes with breathtaking cedars and evergreens like you never see on the east coast but the fall colors aren't quite the same. My husband and I were able to enjoy the sunshine and some gorgeous fall foliage while driving through Lane County where we learned some interesting facts about covered bridges. Covered bridges are icons of days gone by and pioneer life. They were often at the heart of the community, giving shelter for concerts, picnics and political rallies. They were also a place for people to post notices and messages that would be protected from the rain and seen as people traveled in the area.
